  Message from the Dean

Dear Friends,

The Curry School Foundation Annual Report for 2010-2011 comes to you with my deepest appreciation for your generosity. With your help, the Foundation has once again been able to support the Curry School in a number of valuable ways. Here are just a few highlights of the many Foundation contributions.

This academic year the Foundation awarded 93 monetary awards, scholarships and fellowships, totaling nearly $368,000. This financial support for our students is the direct result of the philanthropic gifts of alumni, friends, parents, and faculty who are committed to making sure that well-deserving students have the resources they need to complete their professional preparation at Curry.  This support is invaluable.   Message from the Board Chair

Stepping into the role of chair of the Curry Foundation Board of Directors after Dan Meyers’ six-year term is a daunting task but one which I am approaching with eagerness and enthusiasm.

Dan shepherded the Foundation through a record-breaking capital fundraising campaign and the opening of a beautiful new facility for the Curry School. It would be easy for us to rest in the afterglow of such heady achievements, but the new challenges and opportunities facing the school compel the board to continue pushing forward and evolving to keep up with the school’s support needs. Hoo Couple Wants to Inspire Teachers

Ragan and Dara Folan are true Hoos—she with a bachelors degree from the McIntire School, he with degrees from the College, Darden, and Law. They met as undergrads and got married while Dara worked his way through graduate school. During the nine years they spent in Charlottesville, though, they heard little about the Curry School of Education. MORE.

Supporting Future Special Ed Teachers

In light of its mission to support special needs students and the professionals who work with them, the Little Keswick Foundation for Special Education has established a new scholarship with the Curry School Foundation. The scholarship will support Curry School master’s degree students preparing to work in the field of special education. MORE.
