African American Teaching Fellows
$15,000 per student (seeking five per year, current use)
The African American Teaching Fellows program recruits, develops, and supports qualified African Americans seeking a teaching career who will commit to teach in the Charlottesville or Albemarle County public schools. In partnership with AATF, the Curry School Foundation will seek funding for five two-year teacher fellowships and related support costs.
Dual Degree in Innovation in Education Reform
$25,000 per student (seeking five per year, current use)
Funding is needed to support students recruited from the education or business sector, who seek a leadership role in improving education. This dual degree program with the Darden School of Business will prepare a new model of school leader and reformer — one who is steeped in the practices of business and innovation and who can lead data-driven reforms.
*In order to provide for the general support of the Curry School, 5% of each restricted gift installment is designated as unrestricted operating funds.
