Cindy is a 1980
graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, earning a BA in biology. After working several years in an R & D capacity, she took time off to raise her two children. Becoming actively involved in her children’s schools, she developed a tremendous respect and understanding of the impact that a remarkable teacher can have.
In addition to supporting organizations whose focus is improving education, Cindy is a committed alumnus of the University of Virginia. She has served on the Legacy Scholarship Selection Committee and the Class of 1980 Reunion Giving Committee. She helped organize a first-year scholarship for the Tidewater, Virginia, area. She and her husband, Mark, a 1980 Commerce School graduate, have been active with the Jefferson Scholars Foundation.
Their daughter, Kendall, is a third year student at the University and is enrolled in the BA/MT program at the Curry School.
After spending 25 years in the New York City area, the Galants now reside in Vero Beach, Florida.
