Mac Thompson practices corporate law representing companies in diverse fields including biotechnology, high-tech, publishing, and oil and gas exploration. He has organized various entities and worked on issues associated with financing and refinancing.
He serves on the boards of JVI, LLC, a luxury packaging provider, Mestena, Inc., an oil and gas exploration company, Foundation Energy Company, LLC, a purchaser and manager of oil and gas assets for institutional investors, and Thomas Rutherfoord, Inc., a risk management and insurance company. He is on the investment committee of Tall Oaks Capital, L.P., a venture capital partnership based in Charlottesville, and serves as corporate secretary of Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ: INSM).
This is Mac's fifth three-year term on the Curry School Foundation Board.
He graduated from Yale College in 1969 and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972. He resides in Charlottesville.
