The Office of Communication tells the story of the faculty, students, staff and alumni of the Curry School of Education. The Curry School has adopted a broad vision for our collective work: discover, create, change. The communications office applies these ideals by pursuing members of the Curry community to discover how their work is impacting others. We then work to create print and web-based materials, communications strategies, press releases and other avenues for communicating these stories. The most significant goal of our work is to connect the work being done by our faculty, staff and alumni with those who could benefit from it, bringing positive change to individuals, classrooms, clinics and communities world-wide.
In partnership with the dean, the Leadership Team, faculty members and other constituents, the Office of Communication creates long-term branding campaigns in correlation with the greater University of Virginia brand. We create and produce materials for student and faculty recruitment, advertising and marketing. We also manage the relationships between the core Curry brands and sub-brands including the research and clinical centers, on- and off-site community programs, and professional development workshops and conferences.
The Office of Communication distributes to the media news about the various academic programs, research, faculty, students, alumni, workshops and conferences, and other events and initiatives at the Curry School. We also receive inquiries from media outlets seeking to connect with a faculty who can serve as an expert for their article or television segment.
The Curry School of Education website was created under and is managed by the Office of Communication. We work with a team of content editors located in multiple offices throughout the Curry School.

In partnership with the Office of Admissions, we work to create communication strategies, events, websites and other materials for recruiting undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of the Curry School. We also work with the Office of the Dean, the Leadership Team, and Human Resources to create materials useful in the recruitment of faculty and researchers to the school.
Through a variety of means, including advertising, reputation-building and other strategies, the Office of Communication works to promote and position the Curry School as a leader in education.
