Program Overview
The Curry School Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education program area houses the Ph.D. and M.Ed. programs in STEM Education (with specializations in Mathematics Education, Science Education, and STEM Education) and Instructional Technology, and the Ed.S. and Ed.D. programs in Instructional Technology. Faculty members in the STEM group also work within the elementary and secondary BA/MT and PGMT Teacher Education programs, and contribute to the new Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Ed.D. program. STEM Education faculty members help prepare teachers, instructional designers, teacher educators, and researchers to work in schools, colleges and universities, museums, business and industry, and other kinds of STEM-related institutions.
The STEM Education Program Area is a proactive response to national need for a STEM workforce and for educators to prepare that workforce and a STEM-literate society. It is an interdisciplinary team with content, pedagogical, and research expertise to address these needs.
