This program allows you to earn a Baccalaureate degree from the College of Arts and Sciences (B.A. or B.S..) and a Master of Teaching (MT) degree from the Curry School of Education. Degrees are awarded simultaneously at the end of your studies. You earn licensure with endorsement in Mathematics Education, grades 6-12.
You may add a second area of endorsement (e.g., English as a Second Language, Special Education) to your program of studies. If interested in this option, seek permission from your Curry advisor and the Office of Teacher Education as soon as you are offered permission to enroll. Completing two endorsements requires careful planning.
As you matriculate in Curry between your 3rd and 5th years, you will engage in field experiences each semester. The program offers maximum opportunity for employment and career development.
See the B/MT Student Advising Handbook for program policies.

Funding Opportunities
All new and continuing undergraduates at the University of Virginia may be eligible for federal loans, grants, scholarships, work study and other categories of need-based financial aid. We encourage you to submit your application for financial aid the first of March, so the Office of Financial Aid can provide you with an estimate of your eligibility for the upcoming academic year. Policies related to financial aid change upon entrance to the graduate program in the 5th year of study. To determine your eligibility and procedures for applying for aid, visit the University's Student Financial Aid website. Students enrolled in the B/MT or PGMT program are also eligible for numerous scholarships and awards offered through the Curry Foundation. These are advertised in December, and several are earmarked for TED students.
