UVA Educators' Expo 2012 k-12 Education Job & Interviewing Fair: Employer Registration is now Open!
- Thursday, March 22, 2012: 9am-5pm
- UVA's Newcomb Hall, Charlottesville, VA (Ballroom and adjacent rooms)
- This annual k-12 education job and interviewing fair is open to all candidates/students (including those with no affiliation with UVA) interested in k-12 positions in Teaching, Counseling, Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Administration: Free admission and no advance registration. All majors & degrees sought (not just certified candidates); and math, science & Spanish majors highly encouraged to attend.
- Employers: Register for Educators' Expo: (Registration is online via CAVLink again this year). After your registration has been submitted and approved, you will receive an automatic email confirmation with an invoice and additional information attached. Student Walk-in Hours: 3:30-5pm every Tuesday and Thursday Fall Semester 2011! (September 6, 2012 through December 9, 2011, except for November 8, our Annual Resume Marathon, and November 24, Thanksgiving Day) in Bavaro 218C. Questions about resumes, CV’s, cover letters, job fair prep (for Educators' Expo), internships, job search, interviewing, graduate school? Not sure where to start? Stop by and receive one-on-one assistance for up to 15 minutes....
Student Resume Assistance: Take advantage of walk-in hours and Education Resume Marathon (see above). Additionally, you can access University Career Services' walk-in hours for resume critiques, every Monday-Friday 1pm-3pm during the semester. Also, check out CareerShift's "Resume Wizard" available through the University Career Services (UCS) website. It is a good tool to help you create your first resume.

If you have not yet attended an orientation and you want to participate in OGI, then you must complete the orientation that is now available online:

Curry students seeking work outside of K-12 education in research, clinical, or the non-profit sector, or those that have questions about future higher education opportunities should start their search with Curry’s Career Services office, but may decide to tap into the broader U.Va. career services offerings.
University Career Services (UCS) offers both counseling appointments and walk-in hours to all students at U.Va. (except those in the Darden, Law and Medical schools, which have their own student and career services). General walk-ins last about 15 minutes and are intended for quick resume and cover letter critiques. For additional questions and assistance, students will be encouraged to make an appointment for a later date. Sorry, we do not offer same-day 45 minute appointments.
Unless otherwise indicated, all UCS counseling is held in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. Appointments are offered throughout the year, Monday through Friday. Call 924-8900 or drop by UCS to schedule a time.
