NPR Features CASTL Research Scientist

Anita McGinty was featured in an interview broadcast on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered yesterday. She discussed the results of her work with the STAR Project, led by Professor Laura Justice of Ohio State University (formerly of the Curry School of Education). A recent research report published in the journal Child Development described the results of teachers making explicit references to print when reading storybooks to four-year-olds. Two years after the intervention, children still scored higher on literacy skills than children whose teachers read books without making print references.
