The Curry School Climbs in 2017 U.S. News & World Report Graduate School Rankings

US News and World Report BadgeMarch 16, 2016—The Curry School climbed into the 21st slot in the U.S. News & World Report 2017 Best Graduate Schools. The rankings name the top graduate schools across the United States.

The Curry School climbed one position in the annual rankings. In addition to the school’s overall rankings, 4 program areas increased their national rankings.

In the program rankings, one program ranked in the the top 5, three in the top 10 and three in the top 20.

Special Education jumped two spots to be ranked the 5th best program in the U.S.

The Administration and Supervision program increased its ranking from 9 to 8.  The Curry School’s Secondary Education program maintained its place as the 7th best, while the Elementary Education program also increased their ranking by one up to the 10th best in the country.

Higher Education jumped a whopping 7 spots to come in at #13. Education Policy came in at the 14th best in the country, with Curriculum and Instruction ranked 17.

“The rise in rankings of the Curry School, as well as several of our programs, is further evidence of our commitment to hire top faculty, attract exceptional graduate students and secure increasing amounts of sponsored research funding that supports the innovative work happening here,” Curry School Dean Robert Pianta said.

The rankings are based on surveys about program excellence from education school deans and deans of graduate studies from 278 graduate schools, from school superintendents representing sample districts nationwide and statistical data that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students.
