18-Month Invitational Institute

Our current organizational structure for what used to be a Summer Invitational Institute is our new, 18-Month Invitational Institute, which has three components: Coaching during spring 2012, Institute during summer 2012, and Continuity during the entire academic year of 2012-13. The 20 teachers who will be in the Institute during summer 2012 have now begun to receive support from their coaches, who are members of the CVWP Leadership Team.

CVWP Young Authors Summer Institute - St. Christopher's - July 31 - August 3

During the Young Author’s one week institute at St. Christopher’s School, rising 3rd - 5thgrade students will take their writing to new levels as they create a variety of traditional and new technology texts using a diverse set of tools to include Voice Thread, blogs, and wikis. Each day the young writers will have the opportunity to benefit from expert and personalized instruction, write on topics of their choice, conference with teachers and peers, and work towards the construction of a writing portfolio. We will culminate our week with an Author’s Celebration in which the young writers will share their writing portfolio with parents and friends and reflect upon their growth. The Young Author’s Institute provides the creativity and support to launch the reluctant writer into the joys of writing and catapult the strong writer to the next level.
