CVWP 2012 Summer Institute

Our fantastic CVWP Summer 2012 Writing Institute will be 2 weeks, July 9-20, for 3 UVA Graduate credits. This Institute is for all teachers, K-12, in all subject areas. We meet all day, 9:00-3:00, for what will be an excellent professional energizer for you! CVWP will pay the tuition, and you will receive, in addition to the 3 credits, two other benefits. You will receive a bit of coaching this spring in an aspect of writing instruction of your choice. Plus, during the 2012-13 academic year you will participate in a Continuity program to support you as you continue to work on your writing instruction.

Applications for this year's institute are now closed.

CVWP Young Authors Summer Institute - Meriwether Lewis - June 18-22

During this Young Authors' one-week institute at Meriwether Lewis Elementary School, Albemarle, rising 3rd-5th grade students will take their writing to new levels as they create a variety of traditional and new technology texts using a diverse set of tools to include Voice Thread, blogs, and wikis. Each day the young writers will have the opportunity to benefit from expert and personalized instruction, write on topics of their choice, conference with teachers and peers, and work towards the construction of a writing portfolio. We will culminate our week with an Author’s Celebration in which the young writers will share their writing portfolio with parents and friends and reflect upon their growth.
