In coordination with the Curry School of Education, the Saturday and Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) seeks to offer gifted and/or high ability students a rich and rewarding learning experience. Modeling best practices in curriculum and instruction, the SEP staff works as a community to maximize potential in each student and foster a passion for lifelong learning.
SEP hosts two programs throughout the year. The Saturday program serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade and the Summer residential program hosts students in rising fifth through eleventh grade. Please click on the corresponding links for further program and application information.
Saturday Enrichment Program:
Applications for the Saturday Enrichment Program were due on December 1st. Most classes are now filled in both Charlottesville and in Warrenton. If you want to apply and be placed on our waiting list, you still may do so. We often are able to take many students from the waiting list after January 5th, 2012. To apply, please click on the Saturday Enrichment Program in the side bar on the right of this screen.
Acceptance letters for the upcoming program were mailed on December 19th. For those who have been accepted into the program in either location, tuition payments will be due no later than January 2nd, 2012, in order to hold your spot in the program. Students will be taken from the wait list beginning January 5th.
The Saturday Enrichment Program will be offered on 5 consecutive Saturdays in the winter: January 21 - February 18, 2012.
Summer Enrichment Program:
The Summer Enrichment Program applications for 2012 are now online and ARE DUE ON FEBRUARY 15th, 2012. (If you are mailing a paper application, it can be postmarked on February 15th. If you are applying online, you should submit the application by midnight on February 15th. Every year we get questions about a news article that appeared in 2009 saying that the application deadline was extended to March 2. Please note that that was only true in 2009. The 2012 deadline remains FEBRUARY 15.)
