Annual Fund Giving

The Curry School is fueled by the generosity of annual contributions, which both enhance the educational experience for our students and increase the impact the School’s research and clinical practices have on the local community and the nation.

In order to continue to grow and advance the Curry School and keep pace with our world’s ever-evolving educational needs, unrestricted funds are essential. Every annual gift you make demonstrates your trust in and commitment to the School, and it allows us to invest in the areas where the need is greatest. It also enables us to develop and design vital breakthrough solutions in the field of education. Every annual gift matters, no matter the amount.

2016 Philanthropic Highlights

The Annual Fund experienced unprecedented growth in fiscal year 2016, in addition to some noteworthy engagement activities.

  • Annual Fund giving increased by 56 percent.
  • Our 267 members of the Dean’s Circle of Friends gave over $2.7million to the Curry School.
  • 133 students received over $580,000 in scholarships, fellowships and awards.
  • Curry School alumni attendance at our reunion events quadrupled.

With your support, we can keep that momentum going in order to greatly enhance the student experience, recruit and retain top faculty talent, and support the next generation of bold, innovative ideas that will transform the future of education.

WHEN YOU GIVE

Through the generous contributions of our loyal alumni and friends, we aspire to develop a self-sustaining source of flexible support that will enable us to invest in:

  • Enriching the Student Experience

Students come to Curry to receive more than a degree or certificate—they are looking to have an exceptional experience that fosters their critical thinking skills, prepares them for their professional careers and engages them in meaningful ways.

Scholarships, support for student organizations and program sponsorships are all ways to enrich our students’ experiences on Grounds and beyond the classroom. Students who get involved with the community while in Charlottesville often continue to foster their connection to Curry when they become alumni.

  • Advancing Faculty & Research Excellence

The quality of our teaching and research are dependent upon the quality of our faculty. Curry professors are among the top thought leaders in the education industry. Together, we need to continue to support their research while recruiting new talent from around the globe.

  • Expanding Resources for Curry Growth & Advancement

As the fundraising arm of Curry, the Foundation needs adequate infrastructure to build out the School’s most promising and innovative initiatives, like the Classroom Simulator or the Jefferson Education Accelerator.

We are also positioning the Curry School to engage students, alumni, family, friends, corporations and foundations in a more intimate way. We want to ensure that all members of the Curry community are connected in ways that support the Curry School missio
