Young Women Leaders Program Celebrates UVA Day
On Saturday, March 26, the YWLP Big and Little Sisters gathered for YWLP UVa Day: Empowering Women Through Education. After a pizza lunch on the Rotunda steps, each of the 10 YWLP 7th and 8th Grade Clubs from Buford, Burley, Jouett, and Sutherland Middle Schools participated in interactive career, cultural, and self defense workshops led by U.Va. student volunteers and staff. Everyone came together at the end of the day to hear from an inspirational speaker; present group community service, legacy, and global connections projects; and enjoy a slide show featuring the middle school girls and college women of YWLP.
