Michelle Henry (M.Ed. ’07 Spec Ed) was named the 2012 National Health Teacher of the Year K-12 by the American Association for Health Education. The association recognizes health educators who enrich the depth and scope of health related activities in the classroom and who have been committed to the advancement of health promotion at the school, district, regional and national levels.
Henry is the health specialist at Liberty Middle School in Clifton, Va. Last year she received the 2011 Virginia Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Association K-12 Health Education Teacher of the Year award.
