Brian A. Irving (Ph.D. ’06 PE) is the 2012 recipient of the New Investigator Award presented by the Endocrinology & Metabolism Section of The American Physiological Society. Irving is a research fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The award, which comes with $1,000, recognizes an outstanding investigator in the early stages of his/her career. Candidates are judged on their publications, how the publications relate to the Endocrinology & Metabolism Section and evidence for independence and promise. Irving will receive his award at the APS annual meeting in San Diego this April.
