Alumnus Thomas Taylor Featured for Reducing CHS Dropout Rate

Dec. 2, 2011— NBC29 featured a story on Thomas W. Taylor (M.Ed. ‘06, Ed.D. ‘10 Admin & Supv), principal of Charlottesville High School. Under Taylor’s leadership since 2008, the dropout rate at CHS has dropped from 20 percent to 5 percent. He credits concerted efforts at hiring the best teachers, setting high academic and behavioral expectations, and rewarding positive behavior.
