Anita McGinty, research scientist with the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning, was second author on a paper receiving the 2010 Editor’s Award for the journal Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools. The article is entitled, “Print-Focused Read-Alouds in Preschool Classrooms: Intervention Effectiveness and Moderators of Child Outcomes” and discusses research using the print referencing intervention developed by former Curry faculty member Laura M. Justice.
An article selected for an Editor’s Award is the one that the editor and associate editor feel meets the highest quality standards in research design, presentation, and impact for a given year. The award will be presented at the November 18 Awards Ceremony at the 2011 ASHA Convention in San Diego.
