Claire Cameron, research scientist working the Curry School of Education’s Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL), discussed the importance of father involvement in a guest post for Red Hot Parenting. The Parents Magazine blog, started by Brown University professor Richard Rende, highlights recent child development research findings and their real-life implications.
Cameron’s piece focused on the findings of a 2013 meta-analysis co-authored by CASTL Director Jason Downer. The results of the study suggest a positive association between both the quantity and quality of a father’s direct interaction with his kid and the child’s social and emotional development.
