The Charlottesville City of Promise, an initiative involving area neighbors, schools, organizations and the University of Virginia’s Youth-Nex Center, is planning how to ensure children’s academic achievement, healthy development and college and career success. Initiative director, Sarad Davenport, has come home to 10th and Page, the first neighborhood he can remember, to guide a project he believes will ultimately hand local kids a road map out of poverty.
