Curry Faculty Awarded for Recent Work

Amanda Kibler

Curry Assistant Professor Amanda Kibler has received Honorable Mention in the Journal of Second Language Writing Award for the best article published in the 2011 year for her article “Writing through two languages: First language expertise in a language minority classroom.”

 

 


Susan Saliba

Susan Saliba, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology has achieved Fellows status with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.  The Fellows program honors NATA’s most accomplished scholars and researchers for their leadership and service to the athletic training profession.

 

 


Daphna Bassok

Assistant Professor of Education Policy, Daphna Bassok has been selected to receive the 2011 Dissertation Award by the Awards Committee for the Association for Education Finance and Policy.

Professor Bassok was also selected as an Outstanding Reviewer for her work in 2010 as a reviewer for Educational Evaluation and policy Analysis.

 

 

Robert Pianta

Curry Dean Pianta was selected as one of 31 New Fellows for Outstanding Education Research Accomplishments by the American Educational Research Association.  The fellows will be inducted on Saturday, April 9 during the AERA 92nd Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

 


Dewey Cornell

Professor Dewey Cornell and Ph.D. candidate Jennifer Klein recently published an article on school size that won the Division E Distinguished Research Award for Counseling from the American Educational Research Association.

 

 

Pamela Tucker


Professor Pamela Tucker was recently recognized by the National Board for Educational Administration (NPBEA) for her expertise in helping to define the educational leadership knowledge base for the new NCATE/ELCC draft standards.
