Seven Curry students—and one Curry student to be—are a part of this year’s U.Va. women’s rowing team that won the 2012 NCAA national championship. Anna Kobayashi and Fiona Schlesinger are undergraduate students in our Kinesiology program. Jenny Shultis and Josh Gautreau, who is a coach for the women’s team, are incoming students in our Exercise Physiology master’s program. Erin Metcalf is in the Master of Teaching Elementary Education program and Marelle Myers is in the Master of Teaching English Education program. Taylor Levine is an undergraduate in our Communication Disorders program. Catherine Multari will be joining the Curry School in the fall as an undergraduate student in the Kinesiology program.
It is also worth noting that Fiona Schlesinger was a part of the Varsity 8+ team that won first place at NCAA and ACC Championships and was named ACC Crew of the Year.
One more Curry student, Katie Garrity, also in the Master of Teaching in Elementary Education program, did her part to help the UVA men’s varsity 8+ team win the national championship at the American Collegiate Rowing Association Championship this year. She served as their coxswain.
Congratulations rowers!
