EdPolicyWorks Post-Doc Lands Dissertation Award for Research in Education Policy
Anna Markowitz, a post-doc and researcher at EdPolicyWorks, is the 2017 recipient of the Harold N. Glassman Dissertation Award in the Social Sciences from her alma mater Georgetown University. The award is intended to honor a truly distinguished dissertation in the social sciences.
The award recognizes her work and Ed Policy research in child development. Her dissertations was titled “The role of school engagement and educational policy in the development of socio-emotional skills.”
Markowitz is continuing this work and related research in the early childhood space in her current role at EdPolicyWorks. She is currently working on projects that examine the assumptions underlying popular early childhood policies and describe changes in early childhood classrooms as a result of educational policy shifts.
This award will be presented in May at their graduate commencement ceremony and will provide Markowitz with a monetary reward.
