David Grissmer, Curry School of Education research professor working in the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL), co-authored a New York Times Op-Ed with Daniel Willingham, professor of psychology at University of Virginia.
The piece titled “How to Get More Early Bloomers” highlights the importance of deepening research-based knowledge about what works in preschool, while also making this information available in an accessible format to early childhood educators. Grissmer and Willingham encourage early education policymakers to structure large-scale pre-K programs so that researchers can draw conclusions about impact.
