Experts, including Youth-Nex associate director, Dewey Cornell, say colleges and public schools have made great strides since the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, but that much more needs to be done to keep faculty, staff and students safe. “At our university we actively deal with troubling situations that have the potential to lead to violence,” said Cornell. “Although it is not possible to say whether you prevented someone from committing a violent act, we can say that our threat assessment team has helped deal with many problems and concerns, none of which have resulted in violence.” Read the full story in SecurityInfoWatch.com
