08/02/2012

Lynn RenfroeLynn Renfroe was named the 2012 Outstanding Curry Staff Member by the Curry School of Education Foundation.

Renfroe has worked at the University of Virginia since 1995. She was hired as the Human Services department administrative assistant in 2007. Her title was later changed to chief of staff to better reflect her responsibilities.

Renfroe’s nominators said that she “is amazing in finding creative means for improving the workplace and the professional lives of students, staff, and faculty members.” They also mentioned her administrative skill, her ability to manage a very complicated department, her dedication to the school and the department, her vision for “what we are up to,” and her commitment to meeting the needs of the students and faculty in Human Services programs.

The Outstanding Staff Award is based on the qualities of openness and commitment to the Curry School, a high level of visibility within the Curry community, and a consistently professional demeanor when interacting with Curry faculty, staff, students, and other “customers” of the school and university.

Renfroe will receive her award at a Curry School Foundation dinner on October 25, 2012.
