Success Story
In 2001, Dr. Sara Rimm-Kaufman launched a preliminary study on the Responsive Classroom approach.
She discovered that
• Children showed increases in math and reading test scores
• Teachers offered more high-quality instruction and collaborated with each other more
• Children had better social skills and felt more positive about school.
With these preliminary results, Rimm-Kaufman launched into further investigation, resulting in the Responsive Classroom Efficacy Study.
Expectations are high that results from the four-year study will lead to even greater improvements that will affect hundreds of thousands of school children nationwide.
