Learning to Objectively Observe Kids (LOOK)
The LOOK Project involves the development and testing of a consultation model for early childhood education teachers to help meet the needs of children who display challenging behaviors in the classroom. This model involves innovative features, including a video library, on-line learning modules, and guided video review. The LOOK consultation approach uses evidence-based assessment tools, such as the Individualized Classroom Assessment Scoring System (inCLASS) observation and Adjustment Scales for Preschool Intervention (ASPI) teacher ratings, to guide selection and implementation of evidence-based practices. Once developed and piloted, the LOOK model will be evaluated in a quasi-experimental study to examine impacts on teacher knowledge, skills, and attitudes, teacher behavior, and children's social and academic outcomes.
