Fall Symposium: Getting Started with Differentiation

Please check back for 2012 dates.

2006 was the first year for the Fall Symposium, a two-day orientation to the philosophy and practices of differentiated instruction.  This institute provides a forum for educators to begin the journey toward differentiation through engaging discussion, breakout sessions, and large group sessions led by Dr. Carol A. Tomlinson.  The topics to be covered include planning for a differentiated classroom, creating a responsive classroom, leading differentiation, managing a differentiated classroom, and designing curriculum and instruction for differentiation.

To maximize interaction among presenters and participants, the Fall Symposium will admit only a limited number of spaces for participants.  Spaces for the Symposium are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Once spaces have filled, a waiting list will be established in order of receipt of application materials.  No telephone reservations will be taken.  We advise participants NOT to make plane reservations until they have received confirmation that their place has been reserved.

Week 2: July 16-20, 2012

The Summer Institute on Academic Diversity is the most intensive of the institutes and takes educators and administrators on an in-depth tour of all that differentiation has to offer.  Presentations range from basic introductions to differentiation to very advanced strategy sessions, as well as mentoring for individuals or districts.  The institute is led by Dr. Carol A. Tomlinson and has in past years included distinguished presenters such as Steven Levy, Jann Leppien, Sally Reis, Joe Renzulli, Jay McTighe, and others.

Please be sure to read the Registration information carefully before submitting your application forms.  Spaces for the Institute are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  (In past years, spaces filled quite rapidly.)   Reserved spaces will only be assigned upon receipt of the application form and confirmation of payment.  No telephone reservations will be taken.  Once spaces have filled, a waiting list will be established in order of receipt of application materials.  We advise participants NOT to make plane reservations until they have received confirmation that their place has been reserved.
