Share a Meal is a time for Curry students and faculty to come together to share quality discussion over a meal provided by Curry’s Admissions & Student Affairs Office. Dean Robert “Bob” Pianta will be joining Share a Meal on October 10th, as well as select Curry faculty. John White has served as Louisiana’s State Superintendent of Education since 2012. He launched Louisiana Believes, the state’s comprehensive education plan that includes nationally recognized initiatives to unify the state’s early childhood system, modernize curriculum, and more.

Curry Open House for UVA Family Weekend | Friday, October 18th, 2:30 - 3:30 PM, Bavaro Atrium
To kick off UVA Family weekend, we are hosting an Open House here at the Curry School of Education and Human Development on Friday, October 18th from 2:30 – 3:30 PM in Bavaro Atrium. The Open House will be a chance for families and students to connect with our undergraduate faculty and meet our Dean, Bob Pianta.  We will also celebrate and congratulate our spring Dean's List students and Intermediate Honors students. This event is open to all families attending UVA's Family Weekend. Please note there is no formal programming due to the Ring Ceremony and Intermediate Honors Ceremony being held at 4 PM at John Paul Jones Arena. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Please RSVP HERE by Wednesday, October 9th.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet employers in person, learn about different organizations and positions, and talk with them about your experiences!

The Graduate School Process Workshop for First Generation College Students | Wednesday, October 30th, 12 - 2 PM, Holloway Hall

This workshop is for first generation college students who are interested in pursuing graduate school at either the Master’s or Doctoral level. After a short introduction, students will be broken up into small groups with current Curry graduate students and will discuss the following themes: financial considerations, CV and resume preparation, organizing your grad school search, and how to reach out to faculty.
