Alice D. Choe is a Project Coordinator for the EdPolicyWorks, a joint collaboration between the Curry School of Education and the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Her current work includes supporting a multi-year and -partnership research study, “Nudges to the finish line: experimental interventions to prevent late college departure,” an IES-funded project under Principal Investigators Ben Castleman (University of Virginia) and Eric Bettinger (Stanford University).
Previously Alice was a 2013-2014 Thomas J. Watson Fellow, exploring interdisciplinary approaches to domestic violence interventions in Jordan, the UAE, South Africa, and India – specifically, how law enforcement, cultural and social norms, education, and public healthcare intersect to secure safety and justice for survivors, beyond the criminalization of perpetrators.
Alice also has over seven years of experience in youth mentoring and college counseling, focusing primarily on low-income and first-generation students. Prior to EdPolicyWorks, she was an educational consultant at a rapidly scaling startup based in Beijing; her responsibilities included helping top-performing international students navigate the US college admissions process, and streamlining student recruitment processes.
