First Writing Requirement (3 credits): If your last name begins with A-K, you must take ENWR 1510 in the fall semester. If your last name begins with L-Z, you will take ENWR 1510 in the spring semester. The University no longer allows exemptions from the First Writing Requirement for first-year students (except Echols Scholars). More information about the ENWR 1510 course offerings. Choose at least five different courses that appeal to you and fit your schedule. There are very few slots available since these are small classes. Having backups makes registering easy.
BIOL 2100 (4 credits): All first years enroll in BIO 2100 – unless you have credit
MATH 1210 or 1310 – Calculus (3 credits): Most first years enroll in a calculus course
KINE 2000 - Introduction to Kinesiology (3 credits): All first years enroll in KINE 2000
Most first years round out their schedule with an elective of three credit hours. If you are enrolled in an ENWR, 13 hours is considered a full schedule so an additional class is optional:
- Social Sciences
- Curry School of Education open course
Those who will not take ENWR until the spring semester are encouraged to take another course.
