Ellie is a Kinesiology and Psychology double major from Richmond, Virginia.
I've loved being a part of the Curry community. It has been full of supportive and thoughtful professors, innovative and compassionate classmates and the kindest faculty you will ever meet. In the classroom, I have been challenged in material, but also supported in office hours and personal relationships with my professors. Curry has made a large University feel a lot smaller, which I am grateful for.
Outside of class, I am the alumni chair for Kappa Delta sorority, I volunteer with Madison House, and for the past four semesters, I have danced with the UVA dance minor students in their fall and spring concerts. I am also a member of the Kinesiology Club and I was an Orientation Leader during the summer of 2018. I love to dance, play volleyball and run. I spend most of my time being with friends, going on hikes and finding local restaurants with amazing food.
After graduation, I'm leaning toward a career in the allied health professions, maybe physical or occupational therapy or counseling. My goal is to help people be the best versions of themselves, whether that be physical health or mental health. In my last two years at UVA, I plan on exploring each of these fields more in order to get a more clear path.
I love that everyone in Curry – students, faculty and staff – wants to help one another in some way. The community is very caring and thoughtful and genuinely cares about your success.
