Kristen is a Kinesiology major from Mahwah, New Jersey.
I have loved taking classes in the Curry School because while all of the classes have been challenging, I have gained a lot from them, not only in terms of my career pursuits, but in my everyday life. I love the small community that we belong to as Curry students, which not only pushes us academically and introduces us to a group of students that share academic interests, but also emphasizes overall health and well-being, which is often lost in the busy lives of college students.
Outside of class, I take private flute lessons through UVA, and I am a member of the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra. I am also an executive member for Pancakes for Parkinson's. Additionally, I am involved in Greek Life, as I am in a sorority. Finally, this fall, I will be starting to work at Grit Coffee on the corner, and I will be a ULink advisor. I also enjoy spending time with friends, playing soccer, hiking, cooking, and drinking coffee!
I plan to attend physical therapy school after graduation, and I ultimately hope to work with children with disabilities. I have seen the dramatic impact that physical therapists can have on the lives of children, and I want to be able to form relationships with my patients and make this same impact on their lives.
