The evidence is clear—high-quality early education experiences help children develop foundational readiness skills that are highly predictive of educational and workforce success.

Researchers at the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL), in collaboration with Elevate Early Education (E3), designed an innovative, engaging and interaction-based curriculum model using the latest developmental and early education research. The STREAM: Integrated, Intentional, Interactions (STREAMin3) Curriculum focuses on five core skills that form the building blocks for later learning and six STREAM skills to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. The model includes a variety of activities and routines, coaching, assessments and professional development for teachers.

The New E3 School

The STREAMin3 curriculum model was developed with funding from Elevate Early Education (E3) for use at The New E3 School. The New E3 School is a state-of-the-art demonstration school for children ages one to five. Visit the New E3 School website to learn more about the school and see the STREAMin3 curriculum in action.

STREAMin3 Curriculum Pilot

In 2018, the Virginia Department of Social Services awarded CASTL $850,000 to pilot the STREAMin3 curriculum package in 50 private and faith-based early childhood classrooms (birth-preschool) across Virginia over the next two years. Following the state’s investment, the Obici Healthcare Foundation contributed $1 million in private funding to expand the pilot by 50 state or federally funded classrooms in Western Tidewater.
