The Virginia Violence Project

This is a research and public service project designed to help schools and communities prevent youth violence.

Current projects include:

  • Virginia Secondary School Climate Study, a federally funded, 4-year statewide assessment of bullying, school climate, and safety conditions in Virginia’s 700 middle and high schools
  • Threat Assessment as a Safe and Supportive Violence Prevention Strategy, a federally funded 4-year evaluation of Virginia’s use of school-based threat assessment teams in 1,900 public schools, including a randomized control study of staff development and stakeholder education to improve student outcomes.
