Janet Seide received an Associate’s degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, NY. She also completed a certificate in Graduate Study in Autism from the State University of New York-University at Albany. Additionally, she was a 2011 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) graduate-Family Specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Prior to her position at UVA, she was the Family Outreach Associate in the Division of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics and The Kelly O’Leary Center for autism spectrum disorders at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center, as well as the Co-Creator and Facilitator of the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Pediatrics Family Advisory Council at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Janet is also the parent of a young man with an autism spectrum disorder. In her professional role, Janet offers her expertise as a mother and advocate to enhance the quality of family centered care and improve lives for individuals with autism and their families. Janet has served and continues to be active as a family representative on many panels and boards both locally, and nationally.
