Molly Michie is a Research Specialist in EdPolicyWorks, a joint collaboration between the School of Education and Human Development and the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Her focus is on early care and education policy, particularly state and local efforts to increase access to high-quality care for vulnerable children and families. She currently manages various aspects of data collection and analysis for EdPolicyWorks projects in partnership with Louisiana and Virginia, as these states work to strengthen their early care and education systems. Before joining EdPolicyWorks, Michie spent three years as a researcher at the Urban Institute, where she worked primarily on mixed-methods studies of families’ and providers’ experiences with state child care subsidy systems, pre-kindergarten programs, and Head Start. She holds Master’s degrees in education and public policy from the Stanford Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Government from the College of William and Mary.
