Nicole Zhong

Postdoctoral Research Associate


Nicole Zhong, Ph.D., NCSP, is a psychology postdoctoral research associate at the Supporting Transformative Autism Research (STAR) Initiative through the University of Virginia. Nicole received her Ph.D. in School Psychology and a doctoral minor in Educational Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University in 2019. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where she received specialized autism training in assessment and treatment of children with autism, as well as consultation to school personnel and families. Nicole’s postdoctoral research, under the mentorship of Dr. Micah Mazurek, aims to validate outcome measures for assessing improvements in autism symptoms and to develop innovative models for increasing the use of evidence-based interventions for autism in community-based settings. Under the supervision of Dr. Mazurek, she also provides assessment and treatment services for individuals with autism in the Sheila C. Johnson Clinic at the Curry School of Education.
