Prior graduate work must be approved by the faculty as being equivalent to coursework offered here. It is possible to shorten the program by one year based on credit for prior graduate work.

It is standard practice for all admitted students to have full tuition remission and a nine-month stipend paid for 4 years in residency at UVA.  The base nine-month stipend offered to incoming students for the 2019-2020 Academic Year will be $18,000 in addition to health insurance.
